Moving with the Song
This is a rare chance to see Moushumi Bhowmik, an Indian singer songwriter and researcher from Kolkata, West Bengal.
For over two decades she has been creating for a project called The Travelling Archive (www.thetravellingarchive.org) which involves making field recordings in eastern India, Bangladesh and London, as well as working with archival sound. In this bilingual presentation-performance, Moushumi will sing in Bengali, a capella and will weave her repertoire with images, sounds and stories from her travels, which she will present in English.
