About The Event
Tues 16th July
- Walk 4.45pm – 6.30pm
- Hot Tin 6.30pm-9pm
This early evening walk will leave the station and head along Preston Street, to the Market Place where there is lots to see and learn about, with the Regency/Tudor Guildhall.
Passing the Shepherd Neame brewery, the oldest in the country, we’ll head along Abbey Street, which is reputedly the finest collection of medieval domestic homes in England, and the setting for the famous Tudor play, Arden of Faversham, partly written by Shakespeare, to Standard Quay.
Here should be Thames barges with their historic links to food distribution in and out the country. We head back in to town via the Elizabethan Grammar School and the largest parish church in Kent before heading for the Hot Tin for an evening programme as below.
