Afternoon you crazy cats and kittens!

We would like to announce that your presence is required at the inaugural GREAT BIG SMUGGLERS GARDEN PARTY - an evening of communal festivity while listening to some classic variety radio programming curated by various members of the recently idle but always avid Smugglers family.

In lieu of Smugglers Festival 2020, we’ve teamed up with the Hot Tin in Faversham for a takeover of their radio station, RadioRouteStock. It will be the Saturday evening on the weekend Smugglers Festival would have been happening this year. That’s Saturday the 5th September, 5pm-til-late. We’ll also be sharing lots of special content over the whole weekend to celebrate the occasion.

We invite you to invest in a couple of foaming nut-brown ales (or lager, pims, cider, gin&tonic, whiskey-sours, chilled wine, OJ etc) get a speaker set up in your garden and join us for an evening of music, call-ins, requests, previous live-sets at Smugglers, chat-radio of various flavours, live music and with a bit of luck just the right amount of farce. If we have enough garden parties going on simultaneously, maybe we can just about sate the spirit of the festival for 2020.

Failing that you can also save up your data and stream it on a walk, stick it on while you’re doing the dishes, leave it on in an empty house to keep the dog company while you’re out, or set up a PA and blast it to the masses (official line: don’t do that one). We also suggest you contact/invite your Smugglers pals, in an appropriately socially-distanced fashion of course.

A year is a long time not to see you all, especially after such a strange and historic summer. We hope you’re doing okay out there, and we’d be delighted to have you or hear from you if you can join us in this virtual endeavour.

Big Love xx
