About The Event

LIBERTYOPENCALL winner - DUNCAN GRANT’S new exhibition.

Back in September 2018, Liberty launched a mission to find the next big artistic talent in the UK - inviting artists, creators and designers to upload a photo of their unique work to Instagram using #LibertyOpenCall for the chance to have it immortalised in iconic Liberty Fabric. From digital drawing to illustration, over 5000 incredible entries rolled in. After whittling down a shortlist of favourites chosen by a public vote Duncan Grant's work was chosen as one of four astonishing winners.

Drawing inspiration from the homes and billowing chimneys of Grant’s childhood in Gravesend. Born out of a doodling style, the designs feature a world that is by turns childlike, slightly abstract and colourfully simplified.

“My colourful designs incorporate elements from my childhood imagination and everyday life.” – Duncan Grant

On the decks - northern soul DJ Ged "Stax Volt” Kelly (X-Ray Soul Club; Don't Drop Out; Soul Giant), spinning rare and underplayed soul sounds from the sixties and seventies on original vinyl.
