We were one of 8 arts venues across England in a new project called EarthSonic Local - we worked with sound/music creators between ages 18-30 - we ran workshops across the autumn and winter of 2025 to create pieces around biodiversity for an album, archive and live shows in Liverpool and at our venue, The Hot Tin in 2026.
The 4 workshops centred on:
Climate and biodiversity
Recording and sampling nature sounds
Archiving
Songwriting and music making workshop
The project was open to musicians, singers, producers, engineers, activists and lovers of nature of all abilities.
Participants received a certificate of completion from Music and Sonic Studies, Manchester Metropolitan University
A selection of tracks created during the project will be released in 2026, accompanied by live performances at events in Liverpool and at The Hot Tin.
Thanks to our partners Arts Council England, Music Venue Trust, Roland, Manchester Metropolitan University and Hull University.
